Tool Working Principle

The tool applies JavaScript string methods (toUpperCase, toLowerCase) and a word-boundary regex for title case. Alternating and inverse modes iterate character by character, flipping case based on position or original casing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this actually a font, or something else?+

It is not a font. Nothing about your font settings changes — each character is swapped for a different Unicode codepoint that happens to look bold, italic, script, and so on. That is why the styling survives places that strip HTML and CSS, such as social bios and comment fields, but also why it behaves like data rather than formatting.

Why did some letters stay unchanged?+

The Unicode blocks these styles come from are incomplete. Most cover A–Z and a–z only, so digits, punctuation, spaces, and accented characters have no counterpart and pass through untouched. Small capitals are the worst case: Unicode never assigned a dedicated small-cap glyph for every letter, so a few fall back to the original character.

Why do some characters render as empty boxes?+

Mathematical Alphanumeric and Enclosed Alphanumeric characters need OS-level font coverage. If the device has no installed font covering that range, the browser draws a tofu box. Bold, Italic, and Fullwidth have the widest coverage across platforms; Script, Fraktur, and Double-Struck are the most likely to break on older Android and Windows builds.

Will screen readers and search engines read this text correctly?+

Often not. Assistive technology may announce Mathematical Alphanumeric characters one letter at a time, read them as symbol names, or skip them entirely, and search engines do not reliably normalise them back to plain letters. Keep this output for decorative use — bios, usernames, ornaments — and use real text plus CSS for headings, body copy, and anything that must be indexed or accessible.

Why does the same string look different on iPhone, Android, and Windows?+

Each operating system picks its own fallback font for these Unicode ranges, so letterform, weight, and spacing shift between platforms. Always check the result on the device your audience actually uses before committing to it.

Do I need an account to use Case Converter?+

No. Every tool on TypoStudio.tools runs fully in the browser with no account, email, or API key.

Is my input text stored anywhere?+

No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or shared with a server, and closing the tab discards everything.

Can I use the output commercially?+

Yes. Generated Unicode strings and CSS snippets are yours to use in commercial and personal work with no attribution required.

Which browsers are supported?+

The latest two versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
